Prayer Reminders

Often in spite of good intentions to pray more each day, the time slips by and we haven't prayed.  Here are some "crutches" I use to remind me to pray at different times.

At 7:30 AM, a school bus passes by my house.  It reminds me to pray for the
safety of students, teachers and other school employees.

When I read the newspaper, I check the hospital list.  It reminds to pray
for those who are ill and those who care for the ill.  I also look at the obituaries
and pray for the hurting family members of the deceased.

Whenever I hear a siren or see an emergency vehicle, I pray for those who in
pain or danger.  I pray for wisdom for their caregivers.

At the grocery store, I pray for the people I see.  As I am filling my basket
with food supplies, I pray for those less fortunate and for those who are hungry.

When I see an accident on the street or hear sirens. I take a moment to pray
for everyone and there families involved.

When I receive my Light bill I am grateful that I have the true Light of this
world to guide me in everything I do each day. When I receive my gas bill I am
grateful that I am wrapped in the loving arms of my Saviour.
When I receive my water bill I am grateful that I can go to the Living Water
and drink daily. When I receive these bills I am so thankful that my Heavenly
Father has blessed me with not being homeless

When I turn on my children's bath water or take a shower, I remember
that having water and a bathtub is a blessing from our Heavenly Father.
A large percentage of the world does not have indoor plumbing let alone
hot water.  Thank you Lord for the blessing of water.

Whenever I see my husband in the backyard with my two little girls
(practicing their softball swings or soccer moves); it reminds me to
pray for all the children that don't have their fathers in their life,
or the influence of a caring and loving parent.   [Dana Rae]

As I look at my two beautiful daughters, I have to give praise and
thank the Lord for the healthy children that I have; and to pray for
those children who's health is not so well.  It reminds me to pray for
those parents who have lost their children, and no longer can see them
playing and running.  [Dana Rae]

When I look at my husband I thank God for not having an abusive husband and
pray for all the women out there who are in abusive relationships.
[Natashi Larkin, NC]

When I can't find a parking space close to the building I am going into,
I thank God that I am able to walk. [The Harmons]

When I can't decide what to wear, I thank God that I have so many choices.
[The Harmons]

Whenever I see a young mother with children, I say a prayer for her and ask
god to give her wisdom as to how to raise her kids because I remember how
hard it was for me to teach and raise my children.
[Barbara in Bennetsville]

Whenever I see a young man, I pray and ask god to lead
him and guide him in the way that he should go. To help him to become the
best husband that he can, for I know how it feels to be mistreated by a man,
so by praying this, some other woman may be spared the pain that I have
experienced.
[BJ in South Carolina]
