Sex Addictions

1. Porn Free - What is a sex addict? A sex addict is a person who is unable to stop his/her compulsions toward masturbation, pornography, voyeurism, lust, illicit sex, molestation, fetishes, phone sex, chat rooms, romance novels or any other sexually related activity.  If you think you are addicted or know someone who is, please know that there is hope for freedom from sex addiction.

2. Fires of Darkness Ministries  Fires of Darkness was birthed nearly ten years after Tom Buford overcame addictions to sex, homosexuality, pornography, gambling, and more. Having been to the bottom of the pornography pit, Tom knows the sense of hopelessness, fear and pain the addicted feels.  "Our mission is to instill hope in you...hope that pornography addiction can be overcome and that it does not have to destroy your families. Whether you are the person who is addicted to pornography or the spouse of a pornography addict, positive change is possible."

3. Harvest USA  This is a ministry of truth and love to those affected by pornography and homosexuality.  It exists to bring the clarity of God's Word and the power of Jesus Christ to bear on the issues of homosexuality, pornography, and other sexual addictions.  We do this by 1) equipping men and women who wish to be free from these struggles, 2) providing spiritual support to families and friends affected by these issues, and 3) educating church leadership and laity relating to these critical issues in our day.

4. Mastering Life Ministries is an interdenominational, non-profit Christian ministry. It exists in order to target areas of life where people are caught and deceived into unhealthy, dysfunctional lifestyles that separate them from the power and blessing of God, and to equip the Church to minister to such people.  Our primary focus is sexual sin and brokenness, and related issues such as intimacy with the Father, performance orientation, anger management, etc. The tools of our ministry include film, television, and radio as well as seminars and publications that communicate the truth of Jesus Christ.

5. Battle Plan Ministry  Located in the Memphis, TN, Battle Plan Ministry (BPM) provides a ministry of restoration and discipleship for men who have become ensnared in habitual sexual sin as well as an atmosphere for growth where any man can learn to do battle with the enemy. BPM is headed by Dr. Bill Berry, a former sex addict now helping sex addicts walk to freedom in Christ.   BPM utilizes a great resource document called a "Battle Plan," which is freely accessible on the internet.

6. Be Broken Ministries  Jonathan & Elaine Daugherty share their personal stories of healing of sex addiction. Site offers links, resources, encouragement and info to help sex addicts and those who know them.   "The purpose of this ministry is to bring the healing power of the Lord Jesus Christ into the lives of men (and women) who struggle with sexual sin.  We seek first to present clearly the gospel of Christ, and that it is only through faith in Him and His Word that freedom is ever realized.  Second, we strive to educate recovering addicts about their sexuality, and give them tools to set healthy sexual boundaries.  Finally, we expect to equip men and women with the knowledge that comes from God’s Holy Spirit concerning the dangers of pornography, that they may rise up and usher in healing on the next generation of individuals struggling with sexual addiction."

7. New Life Ministry (NLM) is for people who have struggled with pornography and/or sexual sin.   Many consider themselves to be involved in what has been called "sexual addiction." NLM assists them in recovering from the effects of their choices. Through an email and online peer counseling many have found TOTAL FREEDOM from these situations. We are different than other recovery support groups as we use the Word of God (The Holy Bible) as our measuring stick on how to respond to any situation. We believe that TOTAL FREEDOM from any addiction or bondage to sin is ONLY available through the power of The Lord Jesus Christ. We accomplish this support and guidance through peer encouragement (email) and edifying pastoral counsel.  Phone communication is also available on a case by case basis.

8. Pure Life Ministries is dedicated to breaking sexual addiction through the truth of God's word and the power of the Cross of Jesus Christ by changing lives from the inside, helping hurting wives and equipping church leaders.  PLM has 3 programs designed to help people involved in sexual addiction (see Overcomers at Home Program, Live-in Program, Helps Ministries).

9. Settingcaptivesfree.com   This ministry offers several internet courses for freedom from sex addiction.  Each is tailored to specific needs and provides biblical teaching and daily accountability in an interactive format with trained mentors.  Setting Captives Free also hosts conferences for pastors and is actively helping churches minister to sex addicts.   God is using this ministry to help many people break addiction!  Their mission statement is "Setting Captives Free exists to offer Christ-centered hope and freedom to those in the grip of sin through accountability to bible-based truth resulting in the true enjoyment of life in and for the glory of God."

10. Christian Wives of Addicts:  Started by Mary, this "E-group"/discussion board offers Christian encouragement and support to wives of addicts (porn, alcohol, abuse).  The board is not intended to take the place of a counselor, but simply is a 'safe haven' for those wives who just need a place to come and share with those who are going through similar situations.   This board is used to glorify God.

11. Esther Ministries provides help for women in relationships with sexually addicted men.  We offer Christ-centered help to women who are suffering from the devastating effects of sexual addiction.  A sexual addict's wife is often hurt and confused.  You can come to understand two basic truths about your husband's addiction:  1) the addiction is not your fault, and 2) his addiction impacts the entire family.  We want you to know that you can get help for yourself, even if he is not ready to change.  Through our intensive workshops, counseling, and support from other women, you can find strength, encouragement, hope and healing for yourself and your family.

12. Pure Marriage Ministries is devoted to helping couples whose marriages have been effected by pornography.  Please join us in our goal to redeem God's standards for us! PMM was started by Mary, the wife of a recovering porn addict.  Her site offers prayer, encouragement and support to wives of sex addicts.

13. Enough Is Enough  - A special report to provide an up-to-date overview of the evidence of harm. Read the evidence, and decide for yourself - is pornography "just harmless fun?"
